The truth is he was never going to work here as a ball-hogging floor general - we already have one of those, albeit much, MUCH better at that role, but WB shared the responsibility for that with his poor shooting and decision-making. We really need a Klay Thompson-type player in the 2 guard spot who can play off the ball, knock down shots at a high rate, defend and rebound.

    Peace. Love. Chicken Grease.

Nope.... 8 seasons of Harden as a Rocket. The results are the results. If I saw a realistic path to acquiring a complimentary star to pair next to Harden then I wouldn't think Harden needs to tweak his game. Until we get the star, it's on Harden to do more in order to win or go to a different team.

Best of luck to you in the coming business year.

Agreed. I wish Harden could have been a poor mans Klay for bursts when he shared the floor with WB.

It really is this simple. Westbrook realized that, the team realized that. The only other option was to move Harden off ball when russ was in the game.

It worked with CP3 because he can shoot. Westbrook is a PG that can't shoot, not the first. In fact, it's an entire archetype in NBA 2k lol.

Not really sure how it's going to be much better when Wall's shooting isn't anything to write home about and people should know lower leg injuries can affect shooting but...we'll see, my guess is Wall will be the next reason haven't won.

Everyone knows he was absolutely dreadful in the postseason. Dude laid an egg when it mattered the most. There’s really no way to argue otherwise.

Above all else, the most frustrating part of watching the Rockets in postseason was the very obvious need for another closer. All of the 4th quarter leads we blew. You pretty much knew, unless it was a blowout, we were going to sweat it out in the 4th quarter if the game was close. And that’s precisely what CP3 is.

See what I dont get is, if he was as good as you say he was, why is it that no one really wants him on there team? Why did Cp3 who's contract is just as big get more assets? Why is Harden being blamed for Westbrook's poor play? But if its true why does no other organization see it that way? If it was just covid and a quad injury why is the market so barren. And I say this as someone who didnt like this trade for Wall.

I wouldn't go that far but I do believe that his style and manner of play made it far too easy for the Lakers to negate - especially with their size and speed. Since they knew he couldn't shoot jump shots all they had to do was take away his slashing to the basket by funnelling him into their rim protectors and it was game over as far as Westbrick is concerned.

Guess his handlers at UCLA didn’t enroll westbrick in and any math or stat classes. Must of graduated from trump accept no blame university.
Too dumb to realize how defenses are just waiting for him to ball hog, take away the drive, and burp up bad shots year after year in a the playoffs. All that money and still nothing between the ears. Perennial regular season hero and playoff zero.
Problem with westbrick and harden is that they think their summer drew league style will win them a championship against coaches who are paid millions to come up with defensive schemes to beat them. Wish I got paid millions to tell players to just stay at home and give up the jumper. Westbrick a lot of activity but no accomplishment.

No one really wanted CP3 after his last year with us either. We had to give up picks just to swap him with Westbrook.

I'm not blaming Harden for Westbrook's poor play. I am questioning Harden's leadership. Honestly, I think both players are hard-headed, neither player will sacrifice their game to help the team win.

For Harden and the whole 'off-ball' thing I ask if PG13 is a better off-ball player than Harden...do people really believe this? Because Westbrook played just fine with PG13 and the guy had his best year playing off-ball for Russ.

So yes, I think it is fair for people to wonder...hmm, if Harden played a more traditional 2 guard I wonder if that would have made the team overall better?

Russ, lets just be real for a moment -- you just got traded for basically John Wall straight-up.

And you're over there thinking you were scapegoated? How about you just dominate, and figure out a way for this team to go for another run this season instead of asking for a trade?

Blame Harden if you want, but don't say we're blaming you for anything when you're asking to be traded.
