Unless Rah Fell can pull off a miracle , we may not have any guards to speak of.

Rockets only need to clear 7M to be able to use BAE and/or NT-MLE.

And Rockets are one of few teams left with roster space.

6'10 Aron Baynes is still available and Rockets have a coach (Weaver) that he knows very well. 6'10 Harry Giles is another option (only 22).

More than likely EGo's salary will be moved (taking back only 9M) to clear cap space to allow more signifocant moves to proceed.

IMO, dealing Eric Gordon for some backup scrubs is a dreadful idea.

You better have someone better than Baynes If you are dealing EG, imo.

Interesting, but I wouldn’t move EG for getting access to the NTMLE. Everyone of note has been snapped up. I like Baynes but not for the entire NTMLE. No need for Tate, spend the vet minimum on Ryan Broekhoff if he’s available. Wooten is fine with me.

I like EGo too but this team is changing and only way to do that is bring in players to fit new coach's system and philosophy.

Cannot bring in any quality players without getting rid of some the bigger contracts.

The best of both worlds would be If you could deal Gordon for a really legit player for around 10 million bucks a season, like a Bogd type. Grease the deal with picks.

    Seems unlikely.

The system isn’t changing much. We still have James Harden, we are still going to need to switch to optimize him. The sooner Silas realizes that Harden is best used that way, the better. Losing the defensive tree stump/floor spacer that is Eric Gordon, well you better get someone good back.

EG was locking up Kevin Durant in 2018, and had stints on CP3 and Lebron this year that were highly impressive. Lebron was trying desperately to get anyone else to guard him.

I know he is injured a lot and everything, but gawdamn his upside is 1000x higher than any FA on the board right now. We better be pulling back a Bogd or an Aaron Gordon or something If we deal EG, imo.

I actually agree but Rockets seem comfortable not signing any vets, instead focusing on UDFA or G League level players.

I would immediately sign Broekhoff, Johnson, Bolden, maybe even Justin Anderson as well (he fits the explosive run jump theme to a "T") to vet min.

I was concerned that Broekhoff may not even be in the US because he no-showed at the bubble for Philly to stay home and protect his family. I thought he went back home to Australia.

But Broekhoff is still in Texas.

Offense and defense will be tweaked, bet on it.

A traditional center was promised. Hard to play switch everything all the time with a traditional center.

Even your favorite, Myles Turner, would be toast playing switch everything all game.

Tyler Johnson, to replace Austin Rivers.

    Or Langston Galloway.

For the minimum sure. Is Galloway a UFA? I like him.

Can he pass? I know he’s a SG, but we need some passing as well as 3/D.

Has improved but assists are not his strong suit. Think of him as a Pat Bev type PG.

That’s good enough for the minimum. Tyler Johnson might be a slightly better fit, if he’s healthy.

Wood is the C that was promised, and he can switch.

Doesn't seem like we're going after him, but what about Torrey Craig ?

He's a FA now, wouldn't cost too much I think, and he would be a great wing addition. Elite defender, versatile, can defend 2-3-4, can make threes (33% last season) eventhough he's not a great shooter, etc. It's maybe not what we need the most right now, but it'd be nice and cheap, and it would make up a little for the loss of Covington (who's a better player but you get my point).

Baynes would also be a great fit at C.
