Again the more “info” that comes out the more it’s clear this isn’t a Harden and Westbrook problem. This is a Westbrook problem. He liked having a franchise catered to him specifically. Where he was near the league leader in time of possession every year. That will never happen here or anywhere that wants to win. TOP for Westbrook 14/15 : 8.1 minutes (5th overall) 15/16 : 8.5 minutes (3rd overall) 16/17 : 9.2 minutes (3rd overall) 17/18 : 9.1 minutes (1st overall) 18/19 : 7.7 minutes (4th overall) 19/20 : 5.8 minutes (22nd overall) He wants the ball. And he doesn’t deserve it based on his play.
All superstars have mega egos so this was always going to happen. But the fact Harden pretty much gave Russ the keys from December till the COVID-19 break makes Russ look bad about his whining
I see a lot of Russ blaming for stuff that should fall on Harden in this thread. Not saying this isn't what's best for the team but this lifelong pass card y'all seem to have given James is a bit ridiculous.
From my sources Russ asked for culture changing meaning coach and guys being held accountable for their play, not just accepted which has been the norm since MDA has been here. He wanted a Ty Lue or Doc . He likes Lucas but he ain’t want for head coach, that was Harden pushing that. Russ only said he would like to be traded if they could not improve roster and culture. He did not demand a trade up front.
I agree Harden shouldn’t get a pass for everything, but what is Westbrook right about? The offense shouldn’t go through him, he is a lesser player on offense and defense.
Harden should've told Russ to stay locked in. This is terrible for the Rockets. I have no idea who we can get for him, but everyone is going to lowball us.
They should take turns. Harden is okay when Russ gets hot. Russ likes to see Harden score when he is on the bench. Russ finds it hard to play when Harden gets going as a starter.
those guys imo also just benefit from harden's presence drawing historic defensive attention. i mean without harden on the floor we get killed on the scoreboard
Not a Westbrook stan in the slightest. Just think it's funny that we consistently have to question our culture/attitude/chemistry and yet we continue to chalk it up to the new guy being whiny and not the common fixture.
Where does our offense come from? And if there's a contract that rivals Westbrook's contract for being the worst, it's Horford's contract.
I want Graham and PJ Washington. We can take Batum too to even out the cap and then Batum can expire next offseason.
