Sad, sad day. He truly changed the fate of the franchise with the Harden trade. Seemed like he didn't get the respect he deserved while working here. He's too damn good to stay unemployed for long and I'm looking forward to seeing him build up another franchise.
Mama told me one day it was gonna happen But she never told me when. She told me it would happen when I was much older. Wish it would've happened then. Rocket River
this was final nail from tilman. with so many streaming options and entertainment choices, morey was the last final reason I watched rockets. morey has been the driver in my interest. weird how it ends like this.. covid really did kill lots of things sad face
Nothing but thankful to Daryl Morey for all he has done for the Rockets. Regardless of whatever future endeavor he chooses to pursue, I know he'll be successful.
The best GM the Rockets have ever had....whenever he made a mistake, he fixed it. I am 100% convinced that Westbrook was NOT his call and he didn't want to take the hit if he can't run the club the way he needs to..... Good luck DM, will miss you a lot. DD
About time. 10 years too late. No amount of Nerd-Ball stats can get a championship. After Tmac-Yao, it was over. Sure, Morey-ball can get wins based on stats but to win it all, it takes more than that. Intangibles that Morey wouldn't understand. His HK fiasco exposed how shallow he was.
Didn't Morey used to say that his ultimate goal was to become an owner? Maybe he goes off and makes a few billion, and then he buys back the team from Tillman.
Oh **** I don’t know what I’m going to to do. I grew up in south Alabama, no NBA even close. Fell in love with the Rockets when I saw the last year of the Dream as a small child. Came back when Morey was hired. Ive been so lucky to have Morey as a young Adult! But end of the day I’m a MOF I guess I have to find a new team.
well, i'll just say that i think Daryl was a damn good GM and i think he worked his ass off. I think he was creative and ahead of the curve ushering in the analytics movement in basketball. I think we were one of the winningest franchises in basketball constantly over more than a decade. he rebuilt the team without going in the dumper which is super hard to do. He was super engaging with the fans and i think represented the team extremely well. he was also on the forefront of a lot of great work in Europe and turning the D-league into our own personal farm system. I really can't say enough about how much i really loved having Morey as our GM. He's a fascinating guys; seems like a genuinely nice guy, and i do hope he enjoys his time away from the NBA ....no matter how brief that may be. There's no doubt this is a big loss for the Rockets, but it's also important to be open to change and embrace change.
That meme won't die. It's the perfect meme to post if we get robbed on a trade or if we have a lame record or every Fertittastrophe of a decision we commit.
