As the playoffs approach I'm curious to know who on the team you feel cannot be trusted to consistently contribute to this title run. The question is who do you trust the least to play well in this year's playoffs and why? My answer is Eric Gordon. I know he's played well in the playoffs previously but I just don't see that happening this year. His shot has been off all season and his shot selection leaves much to be desired. I'd rather see House or BMac get those minutes and shots. What say you?
In between House and MDA. House was a dumpster fire last postseason, but he's playing so well now hopefully it carries over. MDA is a "good" coach overall but has shown an inability to make adjustments in the playoffs.
Fertitta and Morey as his hands are compromised. I trust MDA enough but he hasn't won it all with Phoenix making him inexperienced to make the Finals. The players are good soldiers put together for the greater goal.....but who put them together.... Personally I value great role players like the Horrys and great young talents like the Cassells.
One of Rivers or Gordon must step up on both sides of the floor for us to have a chance against the Clippers. Can they do it for one series?
Harden, he has been the most consistent factor for many many moons. MDA is next, too stubborn. Nick Nurse, former RGV Viper coach, is my hero.
My problem with Dantoni lately has been his insistence to go back to his starters and/or sit with a short rotation. The other night the bench w/o Russ & Harden got the game back in hand. With still some length in the 4th Q, he pulls Rivers and the mob and goes back to the guys who haven't been shooting well. I get it. they should shoot well over a long enough sample size. Unfortunately, the truth is guys get "hot" or have their night and you need to ride the hot hand. He would never have the benefit of winning against the Clippers (in '15? when we were over-matched physically and talent wise) -- McHale, bad coach and all was able to let Josh Smith and Brewer win that game. Going back further, Rudy T would always leave the hot hand in the game--
I’d like to believe Harden will be okay, but our coach, nah that 9-10 rotation he said he might go to was pure bullshit.
