How many international meals have you had?
I am not talking eating a Kolache and saying you have had a German meal.

I think my palate has been limited to:
    Mexican
    Italian
    Indian
    Chinese
    Thai
    Vietnamese
    Jamaican / Caribbean

What are some restaurants in Houston - international cuisines - that represent their country well and that one should try?

I eat all kinds of food

Aga’s Restaurant & Catering off 59 and Wilcrest is my Indian fix...their chicken tikka masala, karahi gosht, and naan is very good

Gyro King off Hwy 6 is my Mediterranean fix...their chicken and lamb combo with the sauce hits the spot...they also have good Tiramisu

there was this really good Nigerian restaurant in Bellaire that I used to go to a few years ago, but I think they closed...their jollof rice, chicken, and plantain was so on point

pupusas from El Salvador Papusas Y Mas is my Mexican fix...cheap and always very good...I haven’t been in awhile tho, I hope my guy is doing good...Covid-19 has been devastating to some of these smaller establishments

Thai food from Thai Cottage in Bellaire...been going there for years...the owner is real sweet

    Pho from Pho Ben

things like Italian food I don’t go to a restaurant for...I haven’t seen any Italian dish that’s made me think that I must go out to a restaurant and try

    Ethiopian food is awesome.

Lucy Ethiopian Restaurant on 6800 Southwest Freeway was quite good.

Sushi and Thai are the only things I've been out to get in the last couple of months.

But manana is TexMex day...fajitas and all the trimmings.

oh man, where to begin... I love most everything. These are my personal favorite spots:

Mexican - there's so many great places in Houston and everyone has a favorite or three - I've got too many to name
Argentinian - Marini's Empanada House or Argentina Cafe
    Brazilian - Fogo de Chao
Chinese - like Mexican, there are a ton, but Xin Dynasty is great
Thai - either Thai Gourmet or Konomwan, both are amazing
Vietnamese - Vietnam Coast, personal favorite, but I also have been a Kim Son fan for 30ish years
Japanese - Ginza has the best sushi I've had in the city
Indian - friend of mine from India introduced me to Biryani Pot and Bombay Sweets (the latter is an all veg buffet that this carnivore is in love with)
Greek/Mediterranean - big fan of Dimassi's buffet and Ekko's deli, Fadi's is really good too
Italian - love the food but find most restaurants boring, but Antonio's Flying Pizza is pretty damn good - despite the name, it's a legit Italian restaurant. Cavatore always seemed pretty legit too, plus it's in a converted barn, which is pretty cool
Swiss - does Melting Pot count?
French - had a favorite in Denver but not one in Houston
    Spanish - same as French
Moroccan - same as the two above (all 3 of these places in Denver were really excellent)

I've had Cuban, but not El Rey. May have to try that. Nigerian and Ethiopian sound intriguing. I'm always looking for new things to try.

Technically American, but so exotic, it's kind of international...
    Hawaiian - Tako Poke

Gotcha. Has it changed? It was a pretty legit place years ago.

Helen, if it's still open, was really great.
