Interesting new treatment possibility. http://scitechupdates.com/covid-19-...2_WqkQ9OkbLWpQ3R3cLykoxtuDXBZvMfQuBK6LxL2SeqI This is a big reason the lockdowns are good: buy us all time to find some near-term helpful treatments. if you could seriously get the morbidity rate way down with some take-home prescription, you could possibly restart economies.
Here's an interesting story: My sister worked for Continental Airlines and is now working in Chicago for United. It seems that former Continental employees still have their pensions whereas United employee pensions were lost during its last two bankruptcies (United took away the money). So with all of the turmoil going on right now in the airline industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic, former Continental employees who are close to retirement are jumping ship. And I, for one, don't blame them one bit as nobody believes that United won't take away their pensions as well.
https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections Interesting site if not posted yet with decent visuals. I'm skeptical that Americans can keep social distancing and other precautions going for 3 months that is an assumption of model. "We estimate that there will be a total of 81,114 deaths (95% UI 38,242 to 162,106) from COVID-19 over the next 4 months in the US. Deaths from COVID-19 are estimated to drop below 10 deaths per day between May 31 and June 6."
Cool stuff, thanks for sharing. I was just about to ask where these models are being published. Looks like worse is still yet to come, unfortunately.
There's like 60K+ tests pending in California so things can change quite quickly once those test results come out.
I hope this is not true: https://www.jpost.com/international...operating-despite-coronavirus-outbreak-622917 If it is, how should the rest of the world respond?
I'd hope he gets the virus in jail but he seems like the kind of con artist that has a lot of money laying around for bail.
Yall ever see Dark Knight? Batman creates a device using sonar to listen-in on everyone's conversations so he can locate the Joker. Huge invasion of privacy. If Batman was around, yall think he'd attach corona+ patients to cell phone data and quarantine those at risk?
I wouldn't doubt it. And now some chinese are finally coming out about how badly their government have been lying to them about the real death totals. Not really a surprise. https://www.yahoo.com/news/wuhan-residents-dismiss-official-coronavirus-164859600.html
Well: https://www.timesofisrael.com/health-ministry-begins-controversial-tracking-of-coronavirus-patients/ This is the only case i heard of, i heard that they found about 500 pepole that were infected through this.
I really feel like we have bottlenecked in testing. If I'm right we won't be over 20k new cases again today. In all likelihood we have at least 4x the number of active cases.
I can’t figure out what the ongoing problem is in California and I know some people involved. It just seems like these tests are each very labor intensive.
