It's hilarious how the opposing teams can't even get their transition D set because Russ has already outran both them and his own team to the other side.
I think its pros and cons. The Westbrook scenario will always be superior for one ultimate reason. That reason being these dudes are childhood bffs. Harden is not a vocal leader but he is a machine. I hope he can defer to Russ when it comes to leading a locker room b/c you cant have it both ways. I used to think that CP3 was one of the only players who could keep Harden in check because he respected him..... Well respect only goes so far. Harden and WB are brothers.
Yep, wait until the playoffs when they double James, pack the paint and give Westbrook wide open 3pt shot after 3pt shot. DD
He's playing like Giannis if he keeps doing that he'll be fine, put shooters all around him and we're good ,no one can guard him one on one , he's playing amazing right now...carrying us..I was completely against the Westbrook trade when it happened...he's won me over...dude is amazing
I think it's close enough that there is no definitive answer to this. CP3 was a great fit on our team and would've taken us to the finals barring bad luck. Westbrook is playing great and exactly how we need him to. Any beef I have with the trade isn't with WB himself but our current asset situation and the apparent lack of foresight by mgmt.
As the old adage goes, "90% mental 10% physical. If you can count on CP3 being healthy then you stick with him based off bball IQ alone. We were a game from the finals up on the 'greatest team ever' before the man got hurt. Really really unfortunate. No telling how the league looks right now had we won the title.
That was the best team we have had since the championship years. Last year was a noticeable step back. There was no reason to think this year wouldn’t be another step back if we just ran in back again. I totally understand why they made the trade.
@Clutch still thinks Chris Paul is better. He recently tweeted that he would still rather have cp3 over Westbrook. I can’t find the tweet, he probably deleted it smh. I don’t know why he just can’t own up to it and admit he was wrong about Westbrook.
It actually looks like both teams won the trade. CP3 is playing better for them and I think in the end we just weren't making the most of him. He's a general, that's what he is, he's used to being the complete leader of a team on and off the court and he was never going to get that here. Meanwhile, Russ is Russ. He can't lead a team on his own, that much is proven true, but he's a great sidekick to a superstar because he's always giving his all and determined every game to prove a point.
