I've never seen a team so dramatic about it, I get if they didn't get the 2 run homer, but they are up 3 runs and we have 6 outs left, if they lose this game no one to blame but themselves.

Bottom line Strasburg was just the best pitcher in baseball tonight. Verlander was utter garbage and Harris was due to fail eventually. Now we leave the season in the hands of Greinke
Probably not. That was their plan in Game 1: work Scherzer out of the game on pitch count and get to their bullpen. The bullpen then shut them down. Also, it is a JV start, so 2 runs is average to generous.

If I’m the Nats I just keep sending out Strasburg for the 8th and 9th. Very low pitch count and obvious the Astros hitters aren’t going to do any damage to him. Why risk bringing in a bullpen arm from a shaky pen that could get lit up... he isn’t pitching again this year anyway... let him finish.
He and several Astros this postseason have not quit lived up to expectations. They're still in this thing to win a title but it's been a struggle.
