Pen game, I'd guess. Tough call with Corbin going for them.

    Not that inning.

    [JV]
    Home run
    Walk
    [Pressly]
    Walk
    Bunt out
    Flyout
    Intentional walk
    1B E5 with 83-mph exit velo with 2 outs
    1B with 76-mph exit velo
    1B with 63-mph exit velo

That's how six runs were scored. -- Passan tweet

That play ended the game. Not saying that the Stros didn't have myriad chances to score or prevent other runs, but that was the coffin nail.

This wouldn't hurt as bad if the '05 squad had finished it.

Not only did they *not*, they got swept.

Its ok, we are not quitting , we are being realistic. But, to get over the letdown, someone said amazon prime has the astros 2017 world series run. Put it on and all your miseries will go away.

Hitting with RISP is a lost art form with these Stros.

    Positive note...

Stros are setting up another All-World Clutch City comeback !!!!

Not betting on it, but 4 of 5 is possible.

Verlander set the MLB record for postseason K's (200) -- he passes Smoltz (199).

AJ just said that Bregs couldn't quite get to it....that's what I saw...just beyond the web of his glove. Now, the 2nd one is another story. I would have felt more comfortable with JV staying inJMO.One thing is absolutely true that AJ said "contact is key"...something we should listen to.

There was, but the screwup started it.

You get a chance to reset if you get out of there 3-2...collect your breath and go "Okay, it's only one run..."

They never got that chance. By the time they got back to the plate they were down 6, game over.

After the absolute implosion from Bregman does this humble the kid or what?

BTW, I thought some of our celebrations were goofy but those Washington dugout celebrations felt like a girls volleyball team going at it.

I think I deserve it, from sitting in the Pavilion and cheering for Enos Cabell and Jose Cruz!

I agree but if we had the same pen with James,Rondon,Devnski etc. it probably doesn't matter. And, unfortunately...if these guys are out there again...I'd not feel good again.

I just like that you've decided to visit this part of the bbs.

Unless your arrival coincided with the Stros playing like crap, in which case...

    That's the thing though.

Rondon and Devenski probably don't pitch in a 1 run game, they were just saving arms at that point.

That Bregman error was the game, if he gets the out, who knows...

If they don't have one it's because they don't care. When they do it's just a meaningless gesture.
