NBA fines Mobley $5,000 for criticizing officials

    NEW YORK (AP) -- Houston guard Cuttino Mobley was fined $5,000 Friday for publicly criticizing the referees following the San Antonio Spurs 86-77 win Tuesday over the Rockets.

    The fine was announced by Stu Jackson, the NBA's vice president of basketball operations.

    Mobley described the officiating as ``r****ded'' and said the officials were incompetent.
