Hah! Darren Rovall just deleted this tweet. Cool - Delta, The Yankees official Airline had Bernie Williams and Johnny Damon at the gate for commercial flight 719 to Houston today, as Yankees will now head there to tay in the ALCS. Houston is up 3-1 (Picture of Bernie and Johnny at the gate)
Oh my god...tickets to tonight's game are going for less than $70 on StubHub. I wish I had planned better and had flown out last night. I work for an airline and can fly for free (standby), but the flights that would get me there in time for the game are all filled up.
Expected this to be worse, but according to StatCast.. Ump called 5 strikes balls, and 5 balls strikes against Astros pitching (10% wrong). Ump called 3 balls strikes, and 0 balls strikes against Astros batting (4% wrong).
https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statcast_search I just used the search feature here to identify the different categories. Here's pitchers with called strikes on pitches outside. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statcast_search?hfPT=&hfAB=&hfBBT=&hfPR=called\.\.strike|&hfZ=11|12|13|14|&stadium=&hfBBL=&hfNewZones=&hfGT=R|PO|&hfC=&hfSea=2019|&hfSit=&player_type=pitcher&hfOuts=&opponent=&pitcher_throws=&batter_stands=&hfSA=&game_date_gt=2019-10-17&game_date_lt=&hfInfield=&team=&position=&hfOutfield=&hfRO=&home_road=&hfFlag=&hfPull=&metric_1=&hfInn=&min_pitches=0&min_results=0&group_by=name&sort_col=pitches&player_event_sort=h_launch_speed&sort_order=desc&min_pas=0#results Videos aren't posted yet. Guess we should stick to human umpires then.
From yahoo sports comment section: 3 reasons astros won gardy gardy did not go yardy springer springer just hit a dinger greinke greinke tonight wasnt stinky
Yankees are going to be a cornered, wounded, rabid animal tonight. Take zero chances. Luckily, we have Justin Verlander working animal control. Still, the bats need to get this over with quickly and humanely.
The broadcast definitely showed something different. That ball call to Judge and high strike call against Altuve showed he definitely can't tell the difference in the height of the zone when different people are batting.
I'd be more concerned if Verlander didn't have the killer instinct that he has. He's not Tanaka. Having a lineup that is experienced in the postseason and sprinkled with veterans will be helpful too. I think we're ready to end this series, and it seems like we want to do it in their home.
Just finished reading the last 100 or so pages. Pretty amusing in hindsight. But when did this place become the GARM? Yikes! I have a good feeling about JV tonight. Hopefully we can scratch out enough runs to put the Yanks out of their misery. Go Stros!!!!
You could write a psychology dissertation just following one of these threads from beginning to end. And it would be 1000x more useful than most psychology dissertations. The team was quite out of sorts all through the playoffs up through Game 1 of this series, and I think we, the fans, had reached a real tipping point where passion became desperation and anger. People love this team. They love the Rockets, too. The manifestation of that...not always the most beautiful thing. But you don't get angry about things you don't care about. The Game 2 walkoff really tipped everything back towards its more normal state: both the team and us the fans.
you're speaking logic to someone who holds the texans to a certain regard that have done nothing compared what these astros have done. don't bother
LOL. We have crushed the hearts and minds of the jankees and their shitty ass fans. I wish to bathe in their tears.
