ouch @Plowman sucks. hou could definitely use the depth. not everyone likes playing for pennies though
"Iman, we're willing to sign you to a sweetheart deal but it's to facilitate a trade for another player. You might end up in a city not of your choosing" "Nah man" "Okay...how about a vet minimum deal?" "Nope" *Shams Wow Tweet initiated*
That's disappointing, but not unexpected I guess. Dude probably wanted control of his career not to be a chess piece. Ironically having him on the bench would have given us some useful depth if he wasn't traded.
Yeah Shump could have def been used on the team as the 3rd guard off the bench but at the same time he's not exactly irreplaceable. He only contributed 3.6 ppg in the playoffs last year so its not exactly a big loss. I'm more surprised he turned down the deal its not like any other contenders will give him more than the vet min.
we don't really know what the details of the deal were. if it were along the lines of nene, he in no way should of taken it. makes no sense for him to do so. and the months of discussions part, has me thinking it was probably similiar. hes not irreplaceable but going by what tilman is willing to do for depth and his LTS, its not like getting proven guys like him who did step up in the playoffs are coming.
