with about 50 games left in the year, tucker is just going to come in and take over for reddick. not sure how that's not pretty clueless tbh
Just wanna say thanks to @J.R. Always breaking news. What a valuable asset to the boards. We appreciate you!
If they can survive adding someone with domestic violence accusations then I'm sure they can handle Tucker's "attitude issues" lol
Holy crap nuggets! 1. Didn't even realize that Greinke was available and 2. How on earth did we pull this up without giving up one of Tucker, Whitley, or Alvarez?!? Luhnow is a god!
I'm just saying they gave up a ton of top prospects to keep one: regardless how far some of these prospects might be they are assets that could have been used in other deals. Martin, Beer, Rojas and Bukauskas are worth more than Tucker alone and if the astros could re-sign Bum, then he'd be better than Grienke in the long run. Plus, Beer is probably better than Kyle alone, but they gave up a lot more than just Beer in this deal.
Not a sound argument. Osuna had “accusations” but still had a good attitude and seemed to fit in with the players. I think those accusations were recanted eventually. Tucker though seems to have quickly earned the rep of being an a-hole. Rumors suggest that he is not well liked by his teammates. Big difference in terms of team chemistry
$13.5 million from Cole.... 13.5 million from Reddick.... 6 million from McHugh.... and others. We will be going into or close to the tax and likely filling a few spots with really low salaries (catcher, sp from within and bullpen changes from within) but we can pull it off. Even if we sign Maldonado to be the starting catcher at 2-3 million and let McHugh, Harris, Miley, Cole and Marisnick leave... deal Reddick..... we can fill those spots with cheap internal options like Straw, Tucker, McCullers, Whitley. No one should expect much spending this winter and some guys moved, but we still will be elite if not the absolute best.
Cole has been gone ever since Verlander signed his extension. Astros can not afford to pay $200,000,000 for a starting pitcher.
