I think this is a bad deal, they should have traded Kyle Tucker for Bum. Hell, Beer is going to be a monster. He's way better than Tucker ever wanted to be. They paid out the nose, just because they wanted to keep Tucker and Whitley.
Not sure why I bother, but, Martin probably won’t pitch until 2021 after surgery. Beer doesn’t really have a position and Alvarez already occupies that spot. Bukauskas is still a work in progress and Rojas has essentially come out of nowhere as a 24 year old A baller last year and has continued this season. He will probably be the best of the bunch.
The lineup is stacked and the players love reddick. Would be a stupid move. Tucker could hit .400 in september and he still wouldn’t take reddicks job. Next year- different story
That’s my point. If Tucker makes the starting lineup over a Reddick, then he has played spectacularly enough in September to force his way in. And let’s not forget his .525 ops this month.
This is pretty much the post i would expect from you. Having an additional 2 years of control of an established ace means nothing to you? Especially when the D'Backs are picking up a bunch of the cash? Bum would have been gone for nothing after this season...along with Cole. Now we're set for at least 2020 and 2021...while becoming the overwhelming favorite this year. And they didn't have to give up their top 2 prospects to cap it off. Fantastic deal for now AND later.
Hypothetically, even if his offensive struggles continue through September and Jake or Tucker is playing much better?
