And obviously is a superior player to russ, but for this to work he may need to be moving off the ball a bit more given how bad russ is at shooting and being off the ball. I unlike many have high hopes because I can envision russ killing it with more space on the floor to operate and Harden closing it out in the fourth quarter.

Similar to CP3 it will work for a limited time until it does not.

If Russell was Tmac and 6'9 and could not shoot well, another story.

Harden isn't the best isolation scorer ever, its not even close. I know his points per possession in iso Morey used to argue this, but he also left out a ton of context.

Hakeem, Shaq and Jordan were not scoring their points in ISO against mismatches, nor were they doing so with as much space. The recent popularity of switching defense and increase 3 point shots has resulted in more mismatches than the game has ever seen.

Harden has the luxury of being isolated against bigs (Looney, Cousins, Favors, Gobert) and point guards (Curry, Rubio) more times in a quarter than Jordan has in a game.

Imagine Jordan being isolated on any of those guys 10-15 times a game. Imagine Hakeem or Shaq being guarded 1v1 period lol. Forget the mismatch. Unfortunately throughout their careers not only aren't they facing mismatches, they are rarely allowed single coverage.

Stats are great as they give us more information to make inform analysis/decisions, but without context they are meaningless. The same stat that Morey claims shows Harden as the best iso player ever in 17-18 would also show that CP3 was the 2nd best ISO player ever.
