This criticism is only half fair. There is no denying that the RA and CP3 contracts were busts, but the truth is this years failing squad is not on Morey. The Rockets gave up against the Warriors. And they got outplayed by injury and the Warriors last year. All Morey can do is put the pieces together. And he did. The offseason anger of Rox fans is entirely misdirected at Morey. The truth is, and I am sorry to have to say it ..... NOBODY WANTS TO COME HERE. That's not on Morey. Houston is not NYC or CHI or LA or Miami. No one should take any offense to that fact, but, at the same time, no one should shoulder the burden of blame for decisions that 29/30 year olds make based on the same reality.

Could the Lakers or Clippers pay him as much as Toronto?

Gordon, Capela and Tucker for Butler never made sense. Morey is too smart for that.

So you are casting blame at Morey based on some expectation you had that these players wanted to be in Houston, or could be in Houston, and he blew it. Nope. They are just not interested. Melo is a case in point. In his prime he ALSO was never interested. NYC vs HOU for a 32 year old? Please. Morey has put a quality team together, with some mistakes, inspite of the fact that Houston is not a destination city. And the work he did last year in crafting that post-mid season run was epic. Its the players who should shoulder the blame for the playoff exit. Not Morey.

He took a risk that nearly paid off. Idk who the best GM is but Morey is not the problem. The problem was Golden State, a team no one could beat but we got close. GS is out of the way for now. We have a fantastic team that will contend if healthy.
