Besides going bald, I’ve been very blessed physically. I look about 10 years younger and am still as athletic now as age 20, which is basically more athletic than everyone. Injuries do happen more easily though and take longer to heal. There’s still opportunity for improvement once my alcohol is more under control. I still have 20-25 y/o women choosing me without my spending money and while dressed Iike a bum, so that keeps a young vibe. Everyone should try to maintain a healthy diet, limit alcohol/drugs, and exercise. Also, liking/respecting newer music keeps a young vibe.
Truer words. Older people say, “once you’re old, nobody cares about you”. This is why I make it a point to speak to older people. They’re not useless, they have much knowledge. A simple hello goes a long way in brightening their day.
My L5/S1 is held together with a couple of titanium screws stuffed with bone marrow taken from my hip. I don’t think I have the other thing. At least I don’t think I do. I have another one. When I went from looking like my late father to looking like my late grandfather. That freaked me out.
I told my 85 year old father the other day as he was joking about not being old..... Dad, you know you're old when your kids know they are old.
Hmm... I turned 46 yesterday and don't feel old. I work out daily, sometimes 2x a day, regular sex with my wife, can outrun my kids, all boys, 13, 4 and 1. I'm open to new media, business opportunities and life possibilities. I've accepted most BS I encounter on a daily basis, far more accepting than I was 10 years ago. Yeah, my joints crack when I get out of bed and my back hurts but that's been an issue for me for 20+ years. I guess the question is, is this question based on self perception or your perception of other people's perception of you.
Self perception, in my case. Unless your friends haven’t seen you in at least a few years, they’re accustomed to how you look and don’t notice the changes as much. That’s true in the reverse, of course. A couple of years ago, however, a good friend I hadn’t seen in at least 6 or 7 years came for a visit, and I could tell that he was startled at my appearance. He still looked great, the b*stard. ;-)
I guess replicants do age. So here's one thing that reminds me of my mortality and as I do age, is an increasing reminder that I am getting older: more people around you die. I was just reminded of this a few minutes ago when I found out my Aunt's ex-husband passed away this week. I find this to happen more and more as I get older, and even some of the people I went to HS with have died. It doesn't mean that I am old, but it's the aging of my peer group.
When I got pissed off because they cut off Slash's guitar solo for Sweet Child (GNR) on the radio, and my 14 y/o son asks' "Whats a guitar solo?" giggling.
