Is it just me or does Dwayne remind you of the old Stevie Franchise?

    Wade 6'4 212

    16.3 pts, 4.3 rebs, 4.4 assists, 1.3 stls, .7 blks, 47% FG, 70% FT, 3 TOS, 36 mins

    Francis 6'3 200

    16.9, 5.5 rebs, 5.9 assists, 1.4 stls, .5 blks, 40% FG, 76% FT, 3.6 TOS, 40 mins

BUILD- Both are about the same height and weight. Wade is a little bigger.

ATHLETICISM- Both are about the same. Wade had this amazing windmill dunk yesterday during the rookie/soph game.

    PENETRATION- Both penetrate very well.

STATS- Wades FG% is significantly higher and extremely impressive for a PG. His stats are comparable to Francis and should be almost identical or higher if he was the starter at the beginning of the year.

BASKETBALL IQ/LEADERSHIP- Too hard to tell since Wade is only a rookie and I have only watched about 8 Heat games this year.

    Thoughts?

I think wade plays sg while Rafer Alston plays pg for the Heat. Wade didnt start doing well until he was moved to sg from being the pg.

why compare francis's worst year. He sdefinitly in a slump, and is getting out of it. Compare wade's stats to steve's rookie stats.

I don't understand the purpose of this thread. Are you saying we should trade Steve for Dwayne Wade? If so then state it clearly. I don't understand why some people on this board bring out stats just for the sake of bashing Steve, with no other purposes what-so-ever. From those stats, the MOST I can say is that Wade MIGHT be the slightly better shooter, although the sample size is too small to tell. Even you admitted you have only seen him play 8 games.

i dont think Wade is as explosive as francis, at least i never c much of hang time on his dunks(which means weaker at abs or cant jump too well with one leg).

it s clear that francis has more skill and was muchbetter than him in rookie season

Explosion has nothing to do with hang time. That has everything to do with body control. Wade is pretty damn explosive.

I can see the comparisons. Both are two-guards at heart. Wade is definitely explosive. I think Steve is quicker with the ball and (this year notwithstanding) a better jump shooter. But sadly enough, Wade might have the edge on overall b-ball IQ. He's just a really heady player. He'll be running point in Miami for years. Let's not forget that he was the #4 pick last year though. It's not like we're comparing Francis to some unknown free agent. A lot of people knew this kid Wade was good.

Wade's a great young player with a ton of upside. Had a steller college career and is a proven leader.

On the other hand, Dwayne is not the pure athelete that SF is nor will he ever be. Steve is a good "step quicker" than Wade (no slam on Wade, just a diff. type of player).

Steve could be one of the 2 or 3 best pure athelete's in the NBA.

    Your thoughts?

Wow, wouldn't those stats be great this season? We would have about five more wins. I mostly like the shooting percentages.

and that isnt even his highes carrear shooting percentage.
the problem is his season s that he is just too hesitant to take a shot. He lost all his confidence. He even admitted himself that he isnt the franchise anymore.

Wade is not quicker than Francis...this is basketball not Lacrose.

    What is this thread about????

Wade is not close to Steve...please!

I don't care if Steve's numbers are down this year because we are winning. His numbers are down and Yao's is up. That's what we wanted right?
