Last few years I've been bowling at a place that has a digital jukebox. I think it is awesome despite a limited selection. It got me thinking if there is any place out there that will let me impose my taste in music on an unsuspecting crowd?
Rudz always did And Warrens and La Carafe and Gingerman And La Tapitia did too. Selena was waaayy overplayed on that.
Fox and Hound had a nice one a while back (no more). You could make a playlist at home and login at the bar and go to town. Those were cool
The one from Kay's. Leon's Lounge. Great call on Tapatia, HP! I'd forgotten about that. I miss those queso smothered burritos at 3AM. eta: Bama Icehouse.
Kinneally's does, too. El Paraiso does, too. Lot of Mexican Restaurants, I suppose. And now that I think about it, I can't name one place in Boulder that does, probably because nothing lasts here. (hmm...maybe the Catacombes, or whatever it's called now). but in exchange, most places have an area for a band to play.
Just download the My Touch Tunes app and if will show you places your area that have them. Tons still around
We have one in our house. Plays 45s. My father-in-law collects them and owns about 15 different models. My friends and I used to go to Molly's on 1960 and Kuykendahl every Thursday night (2 dollar pitchers). They had a jukebox that had a glitch that let you play the entire side 1 of 2112 by Rush for only a quarter. So of course....we would put about $10 in and just play it over and over again.....and watch the place slowly clear out. Good times.
I've been to a lot of Bars that still use traditional Jukeboxes so they can control the type of music being played. It's a great way to establish your crowd.
