    back in 08 or 09 I can recall us being the 2nd, losing the last game of the season and dropping to 4-5.

    Am I just confabulating or did this happen

    Yes, Rockets just needed to beat Mavs in the last game to clinch 2 seed over Denver, lost and dropped down to 5th, but had home court over Portland due to better record.
