    If Warriors and Thunder are truly interested in Matthews I think Rockets probably fighting an uphill battle to get him. Warriors are zero wing depth other than AI, whose health is always shaky. Thunder also have a clear need as it appears Roberson is basically not coming back. Houston is only situation where you could see Houston signing him, and then deciding in big time moments to go with harden, cp3, gordon, tucker, or worse with House. In other words, potentially more downside in playing in Houston, probably about same upside (i.e. getting good play time and winning a championship).

    I'm not sure his defense is that good anymore? I haven't watched the Mavs much but I feel getting him will be a lot like Joe Johnson.

    Still...he's probably better than James Ennis so there you go, an improvement.

    The real value of a healthy buyout market is that it drives the value down for players that teams are attempting to trade outright.

    Need to get Matthews, even if just to avoid him signing with Warriors or Thunder. Both those teams would use him effectively. He'd be better than Iggy and a starter in OKC.

    More important than Jordan imo. If Rockets were serious with House about needing the remaining MLE to have an advantage in the buyout market, I'd love to see them try. I'm very skeptical that $1-2m extra (pro rated for the remainder of the season) is going to be the difference between Matthews picking us or Warriors/Thunder.

    Whoops I thought the 3 meant Small Forward, 2 as a Shooting Guard, Wesley is a 3 and D but plays Shooting Guard.
    Maybe he fits with Gordon, Rivers off the bench

    Matthews isn’t good. He thinks he is better than he is and makes bonehead plays late in games. Just ask Mav fans. They are happy to be rid of him

    Adding Matthews and DJ would allow you to trade Capela and Gordon for a wing all star like Beal or Butler.

    We are in win now mode folks, tied to CP3s contract and Hardens prime.

    Too bad we can’t figure out a way to make Knight and Chriss into something usable.

    This doesn't work because they aren't likely to be bought out until after the trade deadline. Houston isn't trading Capela and Gordon, hoping they can be replaced with buyouts
