Not really drama in my opinion just contract negotiations... I doubt anybody is holding grudges.

Why does he seem like that to you? Because he didn’t want to lock himself into literally the smallest contract he could get for 3 years? There is no reason he should sign that.

Maybe yes, maybe no; Morey can't hand out contracts like candy (largely in part to the mega-contracts of Harden and CP3 and the mistake-that-keeps-on-giving Ryan Anderson) like they did in Cleveland for LeBron. "Tristan can rebound? LeBron would be mad if we let him go? Eighteen million per season!"

there's plenty of reasons to sign it and there's reasons to not. he obviously has chosen not to atm, but that's just his own choice

This is true.....but House is a starter. The thinking here is that Harden wants to win, and will see this as the Org not doing everything it can to win, and being cheap.

I really don’t think there are any reasons to sign it... it’s not like it guarantees him a roster spot for three years he won’t be making enough for anyone to think twice about cutting him if he doesn’t perform. Worst case scenario he could go overseas and make at least a mill.

why wouldn't it if it's a guaranteed contract. he also isn't guaranteed a shot anywhere else in the league and the number of nba games goes down by the day the longer he stays in the g-league. that in no way helps his case. So going overseas isn't a reason for him to sign? that doesn't make sense at all.

btw you don't easily make a mil just going overseas. that would take several years for an average player like house to come close to that

Guaranteed contract or not it’s still peanuts and if he isn’t performing he will get cut. Why would he sign for the least amount possible when at any point in the future he could sign for the minimum or go oversees and make more than the minimum? There is no reason anyone in the NBA should sign a three year minimum contract.

who told you going overseas guarantees you more than what the rockets have in that contract he turned down. you might want to get your information straight first.

Even reaching 1 mil playing overseas would take several years for an average player like house. A typical euro league contract depending on the league that players get into in Europe, salaries can start as high as $100,000. so do the math

If he signs it, he'll be showcased in the playoffs, then packaged with Knight this summer as the value-piece in a trade to help shed salary for Tilman, and likely to some bottom-dwelling team. :D (btw, that's also the true value of Morey possibly increasing his offer.)

Kick the Can -- amirite @DaDakota

    just don't kick yourself, Morey.

Emphasis on the Ryan Anderson anchor. He’s a “never was”.

Wasn't he fine with just finishing this year and only asked for the MLE if he was signing for 3? Not you, but some posts read like he was demanding to cripple the Rockets' remaining flexibility.

Hopefully, he will blink. If not, Morey should just convert unless he finds something better very quickly.

I may have missed this somewhere so forgive me if already stayed

If nothing changes and we call him up in March, can he still play in the playoffs? Radio said no the other day.

    Why would he sign?

Because he was just unemployed 2months ago and it's no guarantee he will get picked up by anyone else.

Why do people forget that he was available on waivers this season and nobody picked him up twice.
