probably not too soon to fire up the Official Nunnally Appreciation Thread. I hope he retires a Rocket.
pretty sure he's the Key to a Championship Formula. at the very least he should be the newest face on the wall in the locker room
Nunnally is a good fit. Defense is not great, but he's a sharpshooter. His upside is another Gerald Green. Which is not that high - but maybe he's better defensively than what he showed in Minnesota.
Only 1 of those 29 teams have Harden and Mike D'Antoni though, and House has already failed at a couple of those spots to break through. This is the perfect spot for him to succeed. (Honestly, for a lot of 3&D players to succeed)
I'm curious to see him out there, from what i remember watching him few times in Europe he should be ok, not sure he's quick enough to stay on smaller players as well as we want but we'll see.
Success for a player in House's position is signing a big contract. The one the court success is cool, but money is the primary motivator. This is what he does for a living after all.
You never know which guys are going to be exceptional in a switch-everything defense. Cross your fingers.
that's the thing, there are bunch of free agent shooters on the street, but a truly 3&D player, that's a different story, thus House wanna get PAID.
I, and I assume most fans here, don't know the particulars of House's financial situation. He may be supporting multiple households. If that is the case, the NBA minimum salary won't go far.
I think a big aspect of playing defense in the NBA is the mental side. Knowing how to rotate, communicating, the strength of the guy you're defending. If it wasnt a huge part, why hasnt Gerald Green been a 12 year NBA starter? Nunnally can be just fine if he hustles and knows where he needs to be on the defensive side .
House has proven himself as an NBA player at a position of great importance. I highly doubt what he's done these past couple weeks has gone unnoticed, so he'll get a look from some team this offseason. Maybe not a LUCRATIVE deal, but no doubt he gets signed. I don't think it's a risk for him, really, other than maybe he gets injured in the G League. Having said that...we'll see how Nunnally does. On paper looks like a fit.
