1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head) 2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code) 3. Multiply by 80 and press 'equal' key 4. Add 1 and press 'equal' key 5. Multiply by 250 and press 'equal' key 6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number and press 'equal' key 7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again. and press 'equal' key 8. Subtract 250 and press 'equal' key 9. Divide number by 2 and press 'equal' key Do you recognize the answer?
I don't know how it works, but I'm embarrassed that I had to think for a minute before I could remember what my phone number was.
if the first three numbers of the answer was suppose to be the last three digit of you phone number than I think it's kind of lame. Basically you're mutiplying the 3 numbers by 1 thousand (step 3, 5, and 9) and every onther step really doesn't do much to the numbers since they are << than the final answerr.
Basically, you do enter the whole phone number, they just kinda mess around with it which causes the nice little effect.
Ok, just think of the the first 3 numbers as A and the last 4 as B. So step 4 - 5 you have (80A + 1)250. The result is 2000A + 250 then you add 2B which would make it 2000A + 250 + 2B. subtracting the 250 gives you 2000A + 2B. Divid everything by two and you will have A * 10^3 + B which is basically entering your phone number.
The 250 is multiplied by 1, and later subtracted. Meanwhile, the 250*80, is meant to move the first three digits to the left by 2e4, later divided by 2. example {250[ABC(80)+1]+WXYZ+WXYZ-250}/2 = {2*ABCe4 + 250 + 2*WXYZ - 250}/2 = ABCe4 + WXYZ
