MCW was not even close to the reason our team started. You don’t get many “ideal fits” on the margins.

Morey knew it was a gamble, knew what traits MCW had that made such a low risk move, and quickly washed his hands of it.

“Crap away” I suppose. Some folks love crapping as the GARM shows on the daily.

Calculations for luxury tax are made at the end of the NBA fiscal year (June 30 IIRC).

Even though we have paid a large share of the guaranteed portion of MCW’s salary, none of it will count to this luxury tax calculation.

True, just a little bad for him, not too bad.

we could have signed jeff green for the minimum instead and had exactly the depth we're missing right now at both forward spots

he certainly wasn't helping. and with the depth already in question, he was part of the reason.

you can call it crap away but there was plenty of valid criticism of mcw from the beginning. not every move needs to be justified just because morey did the move. hes not perfect no matter how much people want to believe he can do no wrong and I think DM is one of the best gm's in the game

Save money from the Lux Tax, this probably saved at least 2x his salary.

MCW's spot will go to house.

looking forward to melo going next.

i was hoping we might aggregate MCW/melo/chriss' salary to bring in an actual nba player who's better than a vet min contract, but it looks like tillman is more concerned with tax savings

Good luck in your future MCW. I will miss your pretty smile and dimples cheering from the bench.

The pick is never going to happen I am almost positive it will be very heavily conditioned to the point of nonexistent. It help our cap to not cut players from what I understand. DM was done a solid by the Bulls => he will return the favor one day I am sure.

Yeah, the pick is heavily protected and will never be conveyed. It was purely nominal consideration because by rule there needed to be a "thing" that the Rockets received in return.

The Rockets don't owe the Bulls anything for this in the future. The Bulls made money on this trade. Not a bad day's work for CHI's front office! If it wasn't CHI, there were several other teams who could have swung this deal and collected the money.

Thanks for hitting the late game shot that gave the rockets the record for most made threes in a game. Loved the irony, the goofy grin, and all that jazz.....now go join Jimmer in China and have a nice life.

I mean we had Harden and CP3 undergo injuries and suspensions. Melo sucked. Gordon sucked. There was no cohesive team. He was on the team so he was part of the reason, but not one that really mattered.

Feel free to crap on moves. Morey certainly made the move for a reason.

In Morey we trust. [insert Morey courtside pic here]

These were all pre-calculated moves used as disguise to tell the other 29 teams that Morey is not THAT smart (so don't be afraid to make deal with him). :D
