Watching Kanter trying to guard the P&R would possibly be the worst part of the season, and that's saying a lot.
Yeah Im not understanding this one at all. Defensively, the dude is awful. On offense, he has a lot of skill, especially on the low post, but we don’t feed the post at all with the way we play. And I dont recall him being much of a 3 pt shooter. Ryno was an infinitely better fit.
It's really shocking how little people learned from the Melo experiment. If you can't play defense at all, you can't play for a contender unless you are an offensive monster. Kanter's PPS is practically identical to Nene and there are only 14-16 minutes to back up Capela. Why on earth would we send the only salary we have and the only pick worth giving up to get a backup C who in limited minutes is unlikely to make a big difference vs Nene? I would do it if they don't want a pick attached to Knight (and then re-rout Kanter and 2 2nds for Demarre Carroll), but there is no chance in hell the Knicks give up cap space when they can just sit Kanter down. They don't care about this season and Knight doesn't look ready for this season yet anyway. There are no problems on this roster more important than the absence of a solid wing and the absence of any backup 4 whatsoever. We only have Knight, Chriss and the pick to trade. No one is taking Knight without the pick. Just think about the overall strategy for a moment. If we pissed away Knight and a pick on a backup C, we would then have to acquire at least one quality forward using nothing but Chriss.
