I could listen to John Huston talk for hours. Morgan Freeman before Morgan Freeman. If you dont know who John Huston is, Daniel Day Lewis basically did a two hour impression of him for "There Will Be Blood". Peter Bogdonovich is pretty cool, too. Wells was kind of soft and flaky at the end. I'm worried it will be like Topaz for a Hitchcock fan (an ok film on it's own, but a total disapointment relative to directors normal standard) but I'll watch for the two people I nentioned.
Yeah, I agree. I will go into it definitely expecting less than Touch of Evil or Citizen Kane. The story sounds kind of interesting. And of course, I'm curious. But I'm not expecting much.
My wife watched “Citizen Kane” for the first time a couple of years ago. I got to experience it anew, knowing she would turn to me and exclaim, “This is such a good movie, oh my God.” Which she did. “The Magnificent Ambersons” was disembowelled by the studio. I think they forced Orson Welles to cut an hour of it. The movie FEELS truncated, Readers Digest-ed; and the ending was changed to make it more positive. Could’ve should’ve would’ve been so much better. Still waiting for “Touch of Evil” to play again. I have never seen it.
