What use is a strong arm when you can't protect the plate? Maldonado is being overused like Francisco Liriano was last year with the hopes of justifying a poor trade. I believe stats were posted after the trade about how Maldonado ranked near the bottom of the MLB in plate protection, which is much more important than throw out percentage. Brian McCann is clearly the better player in my opinion and it's a shame he's on the bench for a scrub who was a backup for the mediocre Los Angeles Angels.
Come on answer back. Need to score at least 1 in the 8th imo. Might be able to get 1 off Kimbrel but 2 might be tough. Also need baserunners. Need to somehow give Altuve and mostly Bregman another at bat.
