Also keep in mind Eric Gordon not signing an extension has put Houston in a trade Eric now mode. While they wouldn't just trade him for anyone they were looking for the right opportunities to trade him. In my opinion this is because he is now looking to start do his thing then cash in big time and as much as I like him on the Rockets I really have no problem with that.
Butler wanted the offense funneled through himself or he thought that was their best opportunity to be successful? Big difference. How do you know that's what Butler wants? You know that he wouldn't prefer getting open looks better than having to take on multiple defenders? Is there a quote where he said that? Getting open catch and shoot was never an option in Chicago or Minnesota.it is here. Also, as I said before, he'd still get iso and pick and roll opportunities here too. The difference is that he'd be getting those opportunities in favorable situations that he's never had before. Teague isnt a bad point guard but he doesn't demand double and triple teams like Harden and Paul do. That's what creates open shots for teammates.
The reports are that he wants 5 years 190 mil from any team he goes to. The Rockets simply can't afford to pay Butler an average of 38 mil a year when they are already paying CP3 38 mil a year and paying Harden 37 mil next season. Hell 2 seasons from now you are already going to be paying nearly 100 million dollars for just 3 players, not including Butler......and not including the absolutely massive luxury bill that would come with it. Honestly if the Rockets trade for Butler it looks like an "all in" for one season kind of thing. They know they can't keep it together and would have to let Butler walk. I fully believe that Fertitta will pay a ton in luxury for winning teams, but I don't think he can pay the kind of luxury bill that would keep Harden, CP3, Capela, and Butler together with any kind of supporting cast whatsoever.
Is there anyone that's not in favor of keeping Tucker if possible? But if you cant get the deal done without including Tucker, then you include him. Butler is s big upgrade on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he's light years better than Ariza or Tucker. He's also much better than either of them defensively.

I don't think anybody disagrees with you with regards to JB's superior abilities. Given that each sentiment is accepted to be true, Would this mean that there is something else which makes folks feel conservative about giving up PJ?
