Hot Take alert:

Josh James may have a better career than Lance McCullers.

I like his delivery/arm motion better for health purposes.

Guy has better fastball command with better heat.

 

Another strong inning in relief for Big Flame James.

 

James certainly has a sexy arsenal. Hard not to get excited when you watch this guy go out there attacking.

 

James is so fun to watch. Eventually someone is going to get their bat around and make him look bad, but I love a classic flamethrower.

 

I was thinking about this.

Without doing any research, I would have said it’s somewhat rare for a young pitcher called up late that would/could be in line for high leverage situations in the postseason.

I mean I would have thought he wouldn’t have made the postseason roster. If James continues to throw 100 while hitting the corners all while getting guys out, man you have to add him I would think.

 

You gotta love it when 33rd and 34th round draft picks like Tyler White and Josh James finally get their chance and make it to the big leagues. Both are doing really well and taking advantage of their opportunity.

We've had a lot of high leverage relief. Off-day tomorrow helps, but my guess is we go Pressley-Rondon to try and close out (since Osuna has two 1-run saves already.)

That was a close tight series but we got the sweep. It's what is supposed to happen when good teams play crappy teams but Detroit put up more of a fight than I thought they would.

 

Didn't win any style points, but a sweep is a sweep.
