Probably. I always wonder why he went undrafted; he's too good not to make a roster. It's going to come up to the coaching now, there's talent in that team.
He was a senior for one thing it seems like teams hold it against a guy who stays all 4 years in this era of so many one and dones. The advantage to the that is he played his best on the big stage during the conference tournament and march madness this year. He doesn't lack confidence and he can play either guard spot but he's really a 6'0 -6'1 guard so maybe its the size factor too.
Mostly, he's a 6 foot guard without true PG skills and not particularly quick (relative to his size) He's got his work cut out for him, but he's in the perfect organization to have a chance. Because of Harden we can play a PG without great PG skills, and he can really shoot off the dribble, so in a perfect world that would allow him to do more than just spot up off of the attention Harden draws. He has to shoot the lights out and really ramp up the defensive intensity if he wants to get noticed. If Daniel Gibson managed to carve out an NBA career, he can do it.
He's already being the face of the franchise out there. Tilman is trying to push this guy on us as fan favorite.
How many guards are we going to need? - Paul - Harden - Gordon - Knight - CarterWilliams - Green - Gray And sure some will play the 3 but it isn't like that position isn't evenly stuffed. - Melo - Caboclo - PJ Tucker That leaves 2 rotation spots for players that can play the C. - Capela - Nene - Zhou - Chriss - Hartenstein Even with the added two reserve spots I don't see the kid making anything but the D-League. As I even brushed over FA's such as. - Joe Johnson - Tarik Black - Markel Brown Kid does seem like he can play nevertheless.
