What we've learned: 1) O'Brien is still a moron, 2) the O Line is still garbage, and 3) Kevin Johnson still hurts himself
Looked like an ankle but he played through it. Doesn't explain the inaccuracies. He tried too hard to be Deshaun Watson, the Patriots game planned for that, they turned him into a pocket passer. Bill is dumb as ****, Tony Romo was out-coaching his pants off from the booth. Deshaun spotting them 7 didn't help and he played a little timid but there were some good things there, the Patriots defense is really good and obviously Tom is Tom. He got through his first game so that's out of his head.
I actually thought the O line looked pretty decent today. Run blocking was great, and Watson took a while to throw due to coverage. Game was very fast for Watson today.
Yep. Watson needed more a me time in preseason, because he doesn't look good. Too many hesitations, trying to run instead of just throwing sooner and simply bad throws. A hail Mary that couldn't even hit the end zone. But he thinks he will get 70 touchdowns this year so that means 5 a game for 5 of the next 15 games and 4 a game for the other 10. Hope he can live up to his own confidence.
Let me make it clear that it's not my job to call a timeout to make their job easier. Wanted to make sure we go into half down 14-6. I call a timeout, they have time to put a play together. It's not my job to do that. (KJ) He was cleared. Feel terrible it happened again today. (Difference in 2nd half in getting to Brady) I don't know John. I think we hit him in the 1st half. He's a great competitor. Can't start that way. They turned our turnovers into touchdowns. Came down to red area, 3rd down. They were better than us. (Watt/Brady) He just does a good job getting rid of the ball, max protect, chip, ... we hit him today. He just made some plays. Return game was decent. Trevor punted decently for the most part. It was OK. We'll keep working to get better. Wouldn't do differently in the preseason. Felt we had a bunch of prep to be ready for this game.
That excuse on the timeout is about as troubling as anything I've ever heard BOB say. Got to preserve an 8 point deficit and not give them a TO to put a play together? WTF?
Sure, and if Brady had gotten hurt when he was getting ready for the season by playing in preseason games they'd cry too. You choose to risk a possible fluke injury or choose to not have your team ready to stat the season. Tom Brady isn't a 2nd year player and he still played 2 quarters in both preseason game 2 and game 3. Watson played a handful of snaps per game....that's simply not enough. When you try to coddle players by skipping the preseason, you end up with them in preseason form in the regular season....and you can end up getting them hurt that way.
“I wouldn’t go back and do anything different in the preseason.” Bill O’Brien What an arrogant prick.
