Luwawu-Cabarrot is the steal of this deal. OKC pretty much got another Sefalosha imo

Why would a team on the brink of a championship be excited to add a malcontent like Carmelo Anthony?

I remember Knicks fans thinking McDermott was a steal then we shipped him off mid season.

Philly wouldn't just toss a team controlled asset aside for nothing in return.

So it becomes a Gordon for Schroder trade? No. Even if you're losing Anderson, which would be good, you're getting back trash. He's not great defensively, shoots 30 percent from 3 and is a net negative. They've been trying to find someone to take him for a long time. No market.

Assuming Melo is coming here (all signs point to that), if Morey can swing a Ryan Anderson for one of those overpaid 3&D players (Baze, Carroll, etc.), the team might actually be better than last year's squad. Which would have been almost outlandish to say a week or so ago.

Big IF but this offseason, the going price to dump a bloated contact (Anderson, Mozgov, Melo) is pretty much a somewhat protected 1st and/or young prospect especially if another slightly smaller bloated contact is coming back.

Essentially, Ennis can replace the production of either Ariza or Luc. He might not be as good as either on defense right now but still very serviceable on that end. Offensively, he is better/more capable than either and he is younger on a cheaper deal, and the overall package is more or less even.

Whoever 3&D player we could get in a Ryan Anderson trade, would replace the other.

Added Melo's offense, something we clearly didn't have last year in the forward positions. Skeptics are right to be wary of adding him to the squad, citing iffy defense and a lack of self-awareness at times, but Melo is a low risk, high variance move that we absolutely need to make. If we had Melo instead of Ryan in either Game 6 or 7 in the WCF when CP3 went down, I really think we win either of those games.

I'm warm on MCW deal too. He's pretty trash on offense, but I do think he can be a nice addition to our defense. His measurements and advanced numbers say that he can be huge for our switching defense. And all he has really has to be is better than the revolving door of back up point guards last year in garbage time. Plus, Melton has looked really good so even if MCW doesn't work out, we have a back up solution.

Zhou Qi or Hartenstein replacing the non-existent presence of Tarik Black.

I think we are starting to see Morey's vision this offseason when it became clear that the big names weren't coming. He definitely wanted to get a little younger (moving on from 30+ year old Ariza and Luc in favor of a younger, cheaper Ennis and adding nice prospects in Melton, Edwards, Hartenstein, maybe House), adding more offensive fire power for cheap to lessen the scoring load on our top players (Melo on vet min/MLE, Green on vet min), and finding a low risk 4th guard to spell garbage time minutes instead of having to leave Harden/CP3/Gordon to close games (MCW or Melton).

OKC’s best hope is a competitive 2nd round exit, and Presti got them paying championship prices

Interesting to see if they move Holmes since they are getting Muscala who is a C, or perhaps they are moving Muscala again?

Embiid / Muscala / Johnson / Holmes is overkill at center.

They can all shoot so it works, thats the key. Thats why GS works because they can all shoot and relatively unselfish.

It's very foolish to say delusional. Yes, they both have egos, however Dwight can't change because of a lack of skills. He has relied on his athleticism his whole career. Carmelo has actual legitimate skills & talent that goes beyond athletics. The individual thinking Carmelo can change is much more credible & has a more realistic perception than the individual thinking Dwight can change.

Solid backup lol. Thats kinda my point. TLC is a decent fit because he doesn't need the ball but he won't be a game changer for OKC.

Apparently hou has guys that will put the ball in the basket for him and he'll magically turn into a defensive player at 34 years old
