Oh really, we can still offer him the most next season? Are you sure about that? Well yea thats true, but he could also just think hes worth more and try to play for a big day next season. No need to be a douche about it dude. Sorry I didnt like that one of our player felt disrespected. Sheesh, everyone is so testy on here for no reason.
The team holding Full Bird Rights to a free agent can always pay more via higher raise % (8% vs 5%) and extra year of contract length.
Im glad and hopeful that we are getting Melo. OKC and their current management did nothing for Victor Oladipo....so maybe they sucked with Melo as well.
Variance is good when you are underdog. The bigger the dog, the bigger the variance you need. Not so sure that is the case with the rockets.
Asking for a friend, what determines whether or not bird rights come with a player or not, besides the obvious if you're the team that drafted him?
melo is about to prove to the world that harden is x100000000000 times easier to play off of than westbrook. this is glorious
After completing a contract, the team who held that contract last has the player's Bird Rights, like this Non-Bird Rights -- for completing 1yr under the contract that just ended Early-Bird Rights -- contract ended after 2 consecutive yrs with that same team (or traded) Full-Bird Rights -- contract ended after 3 consecutive yrs with the same team (or traded) Bird rights reset when a Free Agent signs a contract with a new team, or your rights are renounced. You can accrue consecutive years with the same team via more than one contract with that team. Plus Bird Rights persist across trades, no matter how many times the contract was traded, except for trades under condition listed below. Bird Rights reset to Non-Bird when a player who signed a QO is traded, which requires his consent...same consent and rights reset to Non-Bird occurs while under a 1yr contract that would result in Early Bird or Full Bird.
