It’s not that I don’t think Melo can still play. It’s just I don’t see him playing well as a SF. He’s definitely a PF on our team just like PJ. Either of those guys would not be as good playing SF for us.

We really need a natural SF on the roster and I would like that to be someone on top of Luc like Ennis.

He’s going to LA. I say this both as an anti-jinx and some realism. The man doesn’t want a ring, he wants to party. Strip clubs, museums, and great restaraunts don’t offer enough for Melo.

I agree with this sentiment. If we could use Anderson’s contract to take back another bad contract that plugs the hole at SF I’d be happy with Melo playing at the PF. But we’d need a much better defender at the 3. Defense at 1, 3 and 5 gets you by I think.

Bazemore or Porter and their bad contracts fit the bill IMO.

It is very possible the Rockets need to see resolution to Capela situation and if Melo comes here before they fully explore what to do with Anderson. They need to know what direction/holes to fill.

I certainly like the idea of adding another athletic scoring wing like Bazemore or Porter. Those are the types of players that can play against GSW

Not being a smart ass here and not even sure if you were insinuating it was possible; but at least from other posters here I think it is absolutely ridiculous people can even mention Porter as a possibility for a swap involving Ryno (even with sweeteners). I think Bazemore is also a huge reach. Bazemore is someone who is super under performing; Ryno is someone who according to our staff is unplayable.

LA and Melo deserve each other.

If anyone is suggesting Melo play SF they're idiots and crazy. Melo isnt even close to athletic enough to play SF at this point in his career, his ability to play SF has been questionable his whole career anyways.

No chance Morey is dumb enough to bring in Melo to be a starting SF. If any of these "reporters" say it, then might as well forget anything else they say going forward.

    It's just common sense.

the majority of people who want him want him to be our starting SF lol when his best position is at PF

Is Melo coming here if it’s not to be our starting SF? Melo doesn’t want a bench role. He’d probably view it as an insult to be playing behind a role player like PJ.

Hes not even close to SF anymore. He would be a huge huge defensive liability, even at PF his defense is weak. No playoff team can afford to have Melo as SF, none. Its defensive suicide.

To be fair he can do pretty much everything better than Ryno except maybe shoot. If Melo could get his 3pt% up to the 38-40% range then he'd be a huge asset....OFF THE BENCH.

Rockets have to continue to prioritize defense.

agreed...he’d be nice in a 20-25 mpg role off the bench

if Wade can come off the bench, then Melo needs to check his ego and be willing to do the same

PJ Tucker is capable of playing SF, as that was his position in Phoenix. If Melo comes, PJ will slide over to the three, with Melo at the 4.

I’d be thrilled if he goes to the Lakers. I can’t imagine the Rockets signing him for anything except maybe the minimum.

I like PJ better at the 4 than at SF, and I like Melo better off the bench than in the starting lineup

I think he's coming to Houston. He wouldn't fit well alongside a young lakers team trying to position themselves to sign other max guys.

I really think he ends up in LA because of Lebron, the limelight, and LaLa. If we would have stayed patient last season, he would have a ring by now. However, Carmelo has always been short sighted.
