The first segment on First Take today (with Stephen A.) was about the Woj report of Chris Paul pursuing LeBron James, with zero reference to Stephen A.'s own report. Very strange.

Update: 11 minutes in, they finally referenced it in passing, and Stephen A. immediately clarified by saying he had not heard from Chris Paul about it. The vibe I get it that maybe he didn't intend for it to become as big of a storyline as it has.

I bet it's just something he heard offhand from someone else.

Stephen A.: I did not speak to Chris Paul directly about that. I told you my sources told me that's what he said. I did not speak to Chris Paul directly.

With SAS, it was more of a hot take than a legitimate report....or at least that's what it always seemed like to me.

Makes you wonder if he was purely speculating yesterday.

Then Stephen A. is as stupid as he sounds. He knows full well if he tweets something, it’s going to spread and be taken as legitimate news. Media personalities like him are the reason players should be tightlipped about any decision they make.

He knew that, he just didn't expect to be slapped down by a Woj bomb quite so quickly.

Then he should retire if he doesn’t care about winning.

So now they say this after saying "There's no team that Lebron can go to that could immediately win"......

Smith in full backtracking mode.the guy made up something off his own suspicion of what was going on and Woj destroyed him

That Warriors team didn't need KD either but here we are.

That is exactly why Lebron James should come. Houston doesn’t need him just like GS didn’t need KD

The rich get richer. Houston is the obvious choice

In other words, SAS is again wishing for the "LeBron to somewhere else" scenario (see, Houston could be fine without him) because SAS has a different preference.

Players use SAS as a talking head for player politics.

SAS knows what he is doing.

I mentioned yesterday before Woj released his report that Stephen A had reported that Houston wouldn't even go after Lebron on May 18th."I've been told, as Daryl Morey alluded in my interview with him, that Houston has no intention of pursuing Lebron James," Smith said,

Stephen A likes his to stick to his guns and as you can tell his sauces on Houston and Lebron seem to be largely off base
