lulz Odds to go to Lakers PG13 -- 2/7 Lebron -- 3/7 Kawhi -- 5/7 Lillard -- 5/7 CP3 -- even Butler -- 2/1
This is an absolute pipe dream scenario for the Spurs. Will never happen. Although, I give you credit for your creativity. Nonetheless, they’re not trading Kawhi to a Western team, let lone their biggest rival ever. He’s going East, either Philly or Boston, for young player(s) and picks, which will inevitably be a steal for whichever team lands him. Spurs are going to be lowballed and will have to begin a total rebuild. Their situation sucks.
Lets Get Khawai to Houston He will definetley bring us the championship as he can be a upgrade over Ariza or even Paul Geaorge
Why would Kawhi come out and say this now? If nothing materializes that the SA FO likes, Kawhi is under contract for another year. He can't seriously play for the Spurs, come day 1 of the '18-'19 season because of all the bad blood.
All this Kawhi bs just makes me appreciate Harden that much more, I know the money helps, but damn I’m happy to have a superstar that embraces the franchise, the fans and the city.
lol yeall acting like teams have to give up crazy packages for him, he didnt play at all last year. Did yall not see what stars went for last year in packages????? He is clearly letting them know what team he wants to be traded for and he is on a ONE year deal. What we gave up for CP3 could be the MX a team gets. look at what Paul george got traded for. Hell lakers could give up ingram and and first and thats a hell of a deal for SA. maybe would just be a 2nd with ingram if that.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...-make-sense-for-spurs-and-their-unhappy-star/ Lakers receive: Kawhi Leonard, Patty Mills Spurs receive: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Luol Deng, No. 25 overall pick in 2018 Draft, future first-round pick Clippers receive: Kawhi Leonard Spurs receive: Tobias Harris, Nos. 12 and 13 overall picks in the 2018 Draft Celtics receive: Kawhi Leonard Spurs receive: Kyrie Irving, Memphis Grizzlies' 2019 first-round pick
This is a really tough situation because I know Pops was starting to consider retirement in the next few years anyway. I can't see him wanting to sign up for a rebuild on the eve of doing that and I can't see Buford just pushing that on his long time coach so there is a timetable here meaning I think SA will favor short and medium term plans rather than long term rebuild ones. Plus I'm still of the opinion that we have heard the "Star X is DEFINITELY going to LA" line enough to KNOW it's not based on the facts. The media has pushed that narrative for literally every marquee trade acquisition and free agent for decades and the reality is Shaq is the last true star to sign there and Dwight was the last acquisition(and that didn't end well for them). Sure the Lakers will likely land someone one of these days, but it's kind of like that old saying that even a broken clock is correct twice a day. The media is the broken clock...
@ch44 was money on this https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/6/15/17469674/kawhi-leonard-spurs-trades-next-moves
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7o9ncx8 Kawhi for Porzingis / Ntilikina / Lance Thomas works, salary-wise. But obviously the Knicks have to sweeten the pot with picks and other things.
Yeah if Knicks are willing to offer Porzingis, the only other team who could compete with that would be the Celtics with some package of Tatum/Brown/Rozier/picks. Outside of that can't think of another offer up to par from a franchise he'd be willing to re-sign with.
Man if San Antonio gets Prozingis that's great return even if he misses next season. Spurs can tank and get a high pick next summer to pair with KP
