to get rid of Ryan Anderson, find a backup PG, find a backup Center, find an actual POWER forward and find a different philosophy other than shooting 40 or 50 3s every game, were wayyy to reliant on them. That's the big reason why we lost game 7, other then cp3's injury, this team lives and dies by the 3. Other than that I'm proud of the Rockets and I think we can become even scarier if we do what I have said above imho.

And how do you propose we do those things? Who do you propose we get?

Everyone loves to say "if we just do this, we'll be good!" but obviously if we find better players and get rid of a bad contract, we'll be good. It's all icing without the cake.

    So, how?

Fans need to be more educated in the salary cap. It's like a "game within a game".

An athletic rim protector isn’t something to be depressed about. Man y’all might as well not post for a few days aminyil you get over depression. Everything is goin to make you sick. I’m 30 and been through this before. This is the same as losing game 7 to the lakers in 2009. Injuries derailed that season too.

I think the main thing the Rockets need is more midrange specialists. They can keep their philosophy, but have another guy like Paul who has special permission with the midrange. Allow Harden to use it too.

We just need a W or PF that can create his own shot. A player that primarily plays below the FT line that can handle the ball a little bit. Doesn't even need to be a all star player either. Imagine if Ariza, Tucker, or Green, could create their own shot and finish in the paint instead of taking one or two dribbles and looking so uncomfortable. Ilyasova, Ennis type of forward im imagining. Harden and Paul make the defense shift so much that if a W of PF got the ball they would have so much room to operate in. The guys we have now can pump fake the 3 and have a clear lane to drive but none of them can do anything with it. That is why you shoot 44 3s (hit or miss them). If we had a F that could have drove in on about 8 of those possessions, we win, cause he scores or gets FTs. Our guys, when they did drive into the paint, it was a empty possession.. SMH That is bad.

One is a product of the other. I don't want Ariza, Tucker, or Green shooting anything but 3s or layups. CP3 would have brought his midrange presence if he was playing. The system is fine and got us inches from beating the greatest collection of talent on one roster the NBA has ever seen.

Harden shot .500 from 10-16 ft in the postseason. Maybe we just need him to take more midrange shots.

You gotta wonder how vulnerable the Raptors are right now. They seem to be leaning towards a more open floor spacing style of play, maybe they'll be willing to swap Ibaka for Anderson

Changing the three ball philosophy is ridiculous. This team was three correct calls away from beating the best team in the league despite the absolute worst shooting night you could ever imagine.

I would argue the philosophy on offense and defense is exactly why this team could have beat the Warriors.

What is our philosophy? It used to be all about the 3pt barrage.

Houstons secret weapon is its flexibility. However in any given game, we tend to only focus on a couple. CP3 is phenomenal in that he can do almost everything Harden can do plus more. He can drive. He's an assassin at the mid-range. He can hit the 3. He has great court vision. He's a great passer. Harden is better at iso and driving, but his game tends to be predictable.
