Do we really have a chance against the Warriors?

I wouldn't say the KD deal is going to end the league. Houston is one super star away from being just as good or better, so is Philly. Both teams have a shot at obtaining one. Boston made it out of the first round without their top two players and have flexibility and young players to obtain even more talent. Boston with a healthy Kyrie, Hayward, more developed Brown / Tatum, and another star would be the best team. There are definitely going to be legitimate challengers, won't be a cake walk for the Warriors.

Look, the Pelicans job is simply to make this series tough on the Warriors. They will win one or two against the Warriors but were never a serious contender. It is always the same story with the Pelicans. They look like world beaters for a few games because they get actual production from their guard play and then Game 1 reminds you that you always get Anthony Davis but Jrue Holiday and Rondo have just been inconsistent and unreliable AF. That was never going to hold up. Guard play, SINGLEHANDEDLY, has been the source of holding that team back and the reason they will never win. Even with Brow and Boogie wrecking in the front court teams could still easily beat that team. You go look at the games where they were competitive against us and the guards unexpectedly torched us. Our ONLY test this playoffs are the first two games here against GSW. If we win we pass, if not we are in trouble. We can and should beat them. We have the team to do it. Knocking them out will set up our future in more ways than one. Everyone has downplayed the value of beating that team in this summer's FA. The team that DOES IT will be very attractive.

Well the Rockets had their greatest season ever and still won 2 less games than the 14 15 Warriors who won 67. We won 6 less games than the 71 win team the next year.

Oh right and they added KD to a team that was already better than the current Rockets. So of course they are favorites against us.

Honestly, no. They look like a completely different team than in the regular season and Curry hasn't even returned to the line-up yet.

    We'll probably lose in 6.

The truth is, we still need to replace Ryno's huge contract with another all-star level player. We're going to be way over the sal. cap next season after re-signing CP3 and matching Capela's huge offers.

We'll likely have to trade Ryno + EG for another piece and hope GG takes a vet min to come off the bench for us. Here's hoping we have plenty of good vet mins that will come join our team next season. (no more washedout-joes)

The main problem with playoff GSW is they play their starters more minutes and they are possibly the best team ever. That said, we will be favorites to win at home and we have home court advantage. In a normal series vs them we are about 40% to win I think.

Can't say because the Worriers always up their game when they need to.

Part of why they 'struggled' `(58 wins is not a struggle actually) in the regular season was their Defense was immensely inconsistent and not good, but everything else was crisp.

And Curry was injured throughout 30 games.

The D improved greatly, the O was always there, Top or Top 2 in the league so. And the Ball movement is the best apart from the Spurs.

I am not sure but that game they won against us was with Boogie.

They had Boogie but it was their guard/wing play that surprised us and actually a game earlier in the season where Moore and Holiday put up over 30 on us. When their guards/wings go off with Davis or Boogie they hurt you bad. Without production from their guards they just can't compete. In the game you mention Holiday had 21, Miles had 20 off the bench and they had 36 assists and shot 54%. Boogie only had 15. If you look at the other games we all won even when we played bad their guards did nothing. There was a game in December that we barely won where we had to score 130 to offset them ripping us up. Both GSW and the Rockets have premier stacked backcourts they cannot stop. It doesn't matter what Davis can do because they are getting torched. Durant can almost offset Davis & Mirotic and then you have that horrific mismatch. They have to do their share. Guard and wing play in today's game with the drive & kick is just so much more important. Sadly with tougher d sometimes Davis like Boogie and like KAT and Aldridge fall in love with that damn jump shot and stop being as efficient. The Capela's of the world can murder a team quickly with those alley oops, dunks, layups, and putbacks. These more skilled players get too cute.

Holiday is a scorer right now, they just did not play that well in the 1st game, GSW was on top of their game without Curry.

Mirotic became a surprise in the playoffs but I do not think he will be that gud against GSW.

Holiday may play well enough that the Pelicans win a couple of games but they are not beating GSW and going back years it has been that teams failure to get consistent guard/wing play that has held them back. Mostly with consistent injuries. Looking great against the Blazers is entirely different than GSW. I agree with you about Mirotic. Davis is going to get his but Rondo cannot be trusted offensively. You have to get points out of Moore, Mirotic and Holiday. Klay will cancel out Holiday so it almost doesn't matter if Curry is all the way back.

without a healthy curry, i think we can beat them in 6. if curry is back 100%, we will need everyone on their top game to have a chance.

Dun agree with that, without a completely healthy Curry that's a disputable 7 game series. They are that good this time around.

Maybe the regular season GSW who seemed lost on Defense at times. We would have beat them in 5 or 6 at our best.

Morey probably threw the season when he refused to trade Gordon and Anderson and made Joe ****ing Johnson his single biggest move.

I dun want to crap on Mauri again.

Brandan Wright was nothing and Joe Johnson could be the missing piece to Small ball but 36 years old.

Seems to me a miss. But all the PJ, Luc, Green signings were great though.

Why would you even ask this question? Of course we can! We are the best team in the league and dominated them in the regular season. The only way we don't go all the way is if we do it to ourselves and completely choke. I'll say it again........We are the best team in the league!!!!!!
