I don't think they'll use a high draft pick on taylor. IMO, a pass coverage safety is more important to the style of Defense the texans run, not so much a physical freak who can operate as an extra linebacker like Taylor. Marcus Coleman would actually make a great safety in the Texans scheme This is not to say that Taylor can't cover agianst the pass (like Mike Doss last year); he certainly can, he's probably the best availale safety at doing it, but I don't know if having a stud at theat positiion at the expense of the ohters on defense makes much sense for the texans. I expect them to take the best available defensive lineman or Cover corner in the first round.
Andre Ware said before the game that Carr was throwing lots of deep passes in warm up drills this moring and looked very sharp but Capers decided not to play him for some stupid reason. Seems like Capers cares about getting a top 5 pick rather than trying to win ball games.
Yes and now my one year son knows exactly how sailors cuss I can't believe AJ had hands of stone yesterday.
i say we take taylor. we need all kinds of help on defense with all the injuries we had this year exposing our lack of depth. defensive linemen are probably our biggest need, but i would need to be sold on one to make me not take taylor. anyone know of any awesome defensive linemen we could take in the first round? or how about quality players in the second or third rounds? now, concerning david carr not playing: i think it was wise to sit him out. why risk putting him back in when he is of questionable health, especially when you look at the fact that tampa had 5 sacks? i think capers made the right call. one more thing - who wants to give odds on DD's and andre johnson's chances of getting their 1,000 yard seasons now? it looked very doable before DD and carr got hurt. i still think DD has a great shot. AJ has an uphill battle ahead of him. he'll have to have at least one career day to have a chance
