This team is really weird. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde at its finest. They have looked every bit the rockets and warriors equal in head to head matchups. But..... Against every other team they look extremely average. No reason for them to be tied in the loss column with 10th seed. That’s just ridiculous. Every time I think this team has figured it out they go 2-6 or lose 5 games in a row. Other than their 8 game win streak this team has basiclly played .500 ball. Par for the course with Westbrook as the number one option.
The main reason is they play bball the wrong way. Lots of talent but they spend all their time with mid range shots and inefficient chucking. Also Westbrick trying to statpad like usual costing them wins as well.
Do they really want to finish with a great record? It seems like to me, they're trying to stay perfectly within the 5-8 seed. They've been great vs great teams. Beat us 1/2, GSW 2/2. Then they'll just straight-up not give a **** in the other games.
Paul George says wherever he signs next summer, he wants to stay for a while I'm not looking to bounce around and play for multiple teams throughout my career. The decision I make will ultimately be to build something. That's the only way it's gonna be done. This next decision, whatever it is, is to make sure I'm there for a duration. In addition, George said he doesn't know what he's going to do, but immediately added that he knows, "what I feel is best." And that certainly seems like he actually does have an idea of where he wants to play.
Rockets didn't have CP3 or Luc and lost 2 in a row to sub .500 teams entering that game. That stretch was their worst ball of the season. Plus it was on OKC's homecourt on Christmas and even then, it was still a close game. OKCdid play great against GSW both times though.
The way they play, OKC clearly belongs in the top-4 in WC today. They were just so terrible in the beginning that their hopes for capturing a top-seed is basically gone. That's what it feels like to me.
Melo will for sure be there when he opts in. PG i think it depends on how the thunder fare in the playoffs but i give it 50/50 he stays
As much brotherhood as PG might feel in OKC now, when the season is over and he takes the "long view" of the next phase of his career, he'll have to consider the OKC market as it relates to being able to handle the Luxury Tax and spending for multiple seasons as the team tries to maintain a roster to compete for a championship. I have my doubts on that. The Lakers have a higher threshold for the LT so that is something.
Your doubts are well founded. They wouldn’t pay to keep Harden, Durant & Westbrook together. This threesome is more expensive with less upside. Why would they pay to keep it together. Their goal was to resign Westbrook. That’s done.
I mean these is the same team (with same owner) that gave up Harden just because they didn't want to give him the max. So it could happen.
I never thought he would stay in OKC Everything seems to indicate he wants to win . . .but primarily only in LA Rocket River
Agreed. If PG wants to stay, they can still trade Adams and other minor pieces, i mean, Adams is a great player, but if it's between him (or Melo, Roberson etc) and PG you just keep PG and look for cheaper role players.
