Love it? What do you hate about it? Buying advice? I know they come with USB ports...can they be hooked up to computer to burn shows on dvd easily?
I just got mine in November and I love it. They are at a good price right now with the $50 rebate. I love mine I record stuff all the time. Seinfeld season pass rocks. I also figured out how to set it up to record from my dvd player but I do not know about burning to a computer. Ihaven't tried that yet. CK
I dont have one, but we were looking into whether or not the saved shows could be easily transferred to computer here a while back.. and IIRC, it is not easily possible...something about the proprietary format it saves them to. the few people I know that have one love them.. maybe if you are lucky, codell will chimein...he seems to know a ton about them.

I did some searching and came across this site with a l ot of helpful info: http://www.tivocommunity.com/
Because of Tivo, show producers are looking toward closer endorsement deals with companies to integrate advertising into the actual show. Thanks a lot, tivo-users! (not that a watch any tv in the first place.)
TIVO Rules...I have two and I absolutely love them... I bought my first one in 97 or 98 and bought my second one in 00... The best thing since sliced bread, period... I know the next series will be able to burn stuff, but I don't know much about it... I'll be getting my third once they do... Season Pass, Pause Live TV and record to your VCR tapes are the best features, which means you'll be able to burn to DVD's real soon...
I got mine bout 3 years ago and love it....just bought 2 more...one for my mom and one for my girlfriend....cant live without it anymore
I read an article recently in Forbes talking about new companies that are being hired to add product placements to older shows.
If you don't mind dumping cable, the best (and cheapest) option is to go with DirecTV and the "DirectTV TiVo." Advantages include: Better picture quality (it records exactly what is coming down the satellite) Cheaper ($99 for the box, and $5/month) "dual tuners" (the ability to record two shows, or watch a show and record another) If you want to archive to DVD, you also get better quality, as there is only a single additional digital -> analogue -> digital step.
"Rosebud....I mean, Schwing!" I don't have a TiVO, but I do have the Dish Network equivalent. It's called a DVR 510 or something. I know if doesn't have all the same features as the TiVO because I can't tell my box to record every show that contains the words "The Simpsons" or anything like that, but I still love the thing beyong words. I record so many shows now that I never watched before because I was never around when they came on and didn't care for the show enough to set up tapes and mess with timers on a VCR. Now my box just records them all and I can watch them at my own leisure. It's stupendous. I highly recommend them to anyone interested.
