I listend to Paul Harvey a little while ago for the first time in a long time. Man that guy rules. I love his show. I live in College Station and I am still trying to find radio stations that are worth listening to while I drive. I listen to 740 and 610 (Houston stations) but I can't get them when I get close to my apartment, and when I drive by power lines the stations get destorted badly. Paul Harvey's "For what it's worth" today was funny, Today it was about a Seatle man who tried to steal gas from an RV. He got very sick and was found curled up along side of the motor home. The man put the hose into what he thought was the gas tank and sucked in order to start the flow of gas. It turned out to be the motor home's sewege tank drain. That's nasty! So what are your favorite radio shows/stations?
"The Dan LeBatard Show" "The Tony Kornheiser Show" "The Buck on Sports" the old "Max & Mariotti Show" "Gameday with Andy Pollin and Mel Kiper Jr." the old "Tony Fly in the Morning" show
Mancow - I loved listening to this idiot in Chicago. Havent heard the show in a couple of years so take it with a grain of salt. Sports Radio 610 - The sports radio here in Indy sucks my butt. I miss Houston.
Anyone listen to Car Talks? If you don't, you should, that is one of the best radio talk show on earth.
This one's easy. Just see my sig. You will not find a bigger Phil Hendrie fan than myself. For those who have never heard it, the whole show is just a parady of the whole talk radio genre itself. He does character voices over the phone that "call" him with bizarre topics while he plays the straight radio host. Then people call in to argue with the character, not knowing that it's actually him doing the voice. It's classic radio theater. He has about 20 recurring characters that "call" him, each with their own little annoying idiosyncracies. He was on in Houston for a while, but Houston didn't "get him" so he was eventually dropped. Now I listen on the internet while I work.
I think I have heard him, but I did not listen enough to know that it was him. Those callers get pissed at him.
KPFT...all of the Sunday blues shows. I also listen to Lone Star Jukebox on Saturday mornings from 9-12. Depending on where I am and what I'm doing on Friday night, I also listen to the Prison Show. Listening to the families of prisoners send them messages over the airwaves is powerful stuff.
This American Life To the Best of our Knowledge Living on Earth Car Talk Weekly programs and these are all downloadable for free or a fee. The Howard Stern Show I used to listen to the sports talk with Anita Martini and that guy on AM radio religiously when I lived in Houston.
Man that is a great show. I always listen to that when I drive to my classes. 740am is a great station. They always have something entertaining on. sorry I posted so late, I just now logged on.
