Can't expect JV to pitch a shutout and holding the 1-0 lead

I watched the game. He pitched 6 innings and gave up 3 runs - 4.50 ERA

Those two hits were huge hits. You would NOT want the same stat line next game, unless you knew we'd win.

He wasn't bad, but good? Nah

Good news... he only threw 79 pitches, and it's 6 days until Game 6 (if necessary), so he'll get an extra day of rest. He needs it and has earned it.

Verlander was dominant last night. These fools on ESPN don’t understand baseball.

Are you kidding? I would take 7IP and 2 hits every game. The ball was obviously carrying last night.

    He pitched SIX innings.. S I X

Would you want 6 IP 3 Rs, next game?

He pitched excellent besides the 2 hits, but 2 hits can ruin a game.

knowing that the offense is trending towards what it should be then yeah thats not even that bad at all. some people expect 0 runs every game given up by your pitcher. yeah that's not happening.

It's crazy, their network is broadcasting the World Series, so you'd think they'd at least talk about it for 5-10 minutes to lead off the show, but instead they lead off with LeBron and whether he can make 80% of his free throws????...Meanwhile ESPN First Take actually has a good discussion on the series for about 7 minutes to start their show

Keuchel and Verlander gave up 11 baserunners in 12.2 innings, so it isn't as if they really tagged those 2.

That performance at the end of the game by the offense may be the spark for an explosion. This was the best, most relentless offense in baseball and they have been in a complete slumber. Darvish isn't easy to hit, but when this offense starts rolling nobody can stop it.

Nobody in their right mind should expect shutouts.

    4.50 ERA is not good

If we win, he can have a 6.00 ERA -- but that doesn't mean he pitched well.

That same rule held true in 05 until Selig said MLB controls the post season and ordered us to open it thus greatly reducing our home field advantage.

if he had that outing in houston in his next start, I wouldnt call that a terrible start. and no game 1 wasn't a bad start. still put the team in a position to win. but the run support obviously was 0. you're not winning that way period

I asked last night if this is still the case, got no response. If anyone wants to find out, let us know.

This. This right here. This still PI$$ES ME OFF TO THIS DAY. ANd Uncle Drayton meekly rolled over. Gave away one of our biggest advantages. It was a complete ripoff job by Selig, I really can't believe people have forgotten about that so easily.

I'm not calling either start terrible or bad.

Please understand so unnecessary debates are avoided.

We would NOT want Keuchel or JV's last games' results, next game.
