They only played one half of football again. Sad. But in the end doesn't really matter. Let's just get to a bowl game.
Astro like collapse. Zero defense in the second half. It was like they weren't even out there. Memphis just scored at will. Some of the worst pass defense I have ever seen at any level including Pee Wee league. This team is taking "Coog it" to another level.
Disgraceful coaching. Ed Oliver is a once in a generation player and you're going to waste his talent with this awful coordinator? You get what you pay for, but the sad thing is UH probably overpaid for this garbage staff.
The halftime lead felt like it was more about Memphis' screw ups than it was Houston playing well. The 2nd half proved my intuition correct. This is a 7 win team.
"B-B-B-But high school coaches love him." If this team isnt bowl eligible, Tilman better follow through on his promise.
It's become clear a Greg Ward like/dual threat quarterback (King) will put energy and excitement back into the offense but the defense is having its fair share of issues as well. We can't go into halftime with leads and forget there's two halves in a game.
I hope we're not reliving the Levine Era. Smh The second half of Applewhite's tenure may be an evaluation of his ability to truly show any progress and succeed at being a head coach. We'll see if the administration stands by its 10-2/9-3/8-4 claim or try to soothe it over with us as an adjustment period.
Major is not Head Coach material and it's showing.....BAD HIRE! His offense is just like him conservative and unimaginative. The Defensive Coordinator was a bad hire as well, he was pushed out at Miami. I saw it from the beginning. Should've went with Todd Orlando or an outsider. Major is a behind the scene guy. You put him out front and he's outside of his element. It's ashame, because UH is talented!
I think they went with Major because he was safe and cheap. Fearing hiring another hot assistant that wins 9+ games will just leave after the first year. They need to risk it because I think Major is Levine 2.0
Major reeks of mediocrity. When Houston had the ball 4th and 1, up by 3 in the 4th Qtr, with the ball their own 40 and our defense hadn't stopped Memphis the whole 2nd half, why not go for it?? Everybody in the stadium knew on 3rd and 1, they were going to run Catalon. I would have let the QB run it on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1. All you needed was 1 yard. You have to change up after going to the well one too many times. IT WAS NO REASON THEY SHOULD HAVE LOST THAT GAME.
