What a week its been, when once again Pole and I would share a pleasantry. I agree whole heartily. Well, even if it wasn't for the fans, Id still hate the Dallas Cokeboys.
Hey Ro03- Didn't you ever take Texas history? For the love of Pete, we were our own country! No state has the history we do. The "Utahites" or whatever you called them is hardly the same. Texans the world over are known for being big, strong, nice, friendly, honorable people. There are other teams geographically named: Canadiens and Canucks comes to mind. They are named after a place and people. ------------------ Proud Cheerleader 'til we move to New Orleans 302 [This message has been edited by Lynus302 (edited February 07, 2000).]
Im sorry but the team I hate the most in the NFL is the 49ers and to be similar to them would be like eating poison. Please nothing similar to 49ers and or the Utah Jazz. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day
Nice to see how "America's Team" has become glossed the "Crackwagon". Born and raised Steelers fan. Let's hope Cordell gets moved back to his "Slash" role soon!! Oh, and for the record, I still say the Houston Texans is a horrible name. Like NO **** Houstonians are Texans! It sounds like a dumb redneck came up with that! Just horrible! TraJ, I'm with you. I thought about that name before, but wasn't quite sure if it would fit, but the more I think about it, there isn't much more powerful than a flood. ------------------ The key for the Rockets is a winning attitude and mentality which can only be had by winning basketball games. How bout the Houston Dollars. They could have the $ on the helmets and jersey made of actual dollar bills. ummm...on second thought nix that idea, who wants to see a 400 pound offensive lineman nude.
Lmao super bump I accidentally clicked on this page....the replies are hilarious.EVERYBODY hated the name "Texans"
The only difference is that I've had 15 years to get used to the name. It doesn't sound offensive to the ears just because I've heard it for so long now. It's still kind of a stupid name. Do a search for worst team names in pro sports and you're probably find Texans near the top.
According to these sites, not even close: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1443344-the-worst-team-names-in-sports-today https://fansided.com/2014/06/23/10-worst-ridiculous-sports-team-names-ever/ They're a few years old but still good overall lists. I accidently just looked up names in sports not team names in sports and it took me here, worth it: https://www.buzzfeed.com/robinedds/...names-in-sport?utm_term=.ww8qzNDz0#.wy715EK5L
Agreed. We've all said some dumb stuff. Honestly I find it hard to believe I root for the Texans. I hated that name so much I thought I could never root for them. Now it doesn't bother me at all. I mean if I actively think about it I remember that I don't like it, but it doesn't cross my mind normally.
Apollos, Bobcats, Stallions, and Wildcatters... I'll take Texans any day and Sunday over those. We're just lucky the new owner's favorite color wasn't Avocado Green or Havest Gold or . After a canned meat company... so they're meat packers.
