    In my humble opinion, the New York Knicks biggest gap amongst many is leadership.

    I'm thinking this Carmelo deal will happen once the Knick's new leader has the people's perception that the risk of holding Melo is greater than loosing him for nothing.

    If he makes a move before that, then he doesn't gain the trust & confidence that New Yorkers expect.

    The loss of A championship & Linsanity to Houston makes the stakes even higher for this guy.

    What about the fact that DJ can become a free agent next summer and leave them? Bev is just ok. If DJ leaves them next summer, then what do they have to show for trading Kyrie?

    Well either way, we will get something good out of today. We get Melo, or @Clutch throws the ban hammer super hard down on @Pounder so either way it’s going to be a good day.

    My money is on the troll getting banned

    That's true, but we're talking about them trading Kyrie Irving. They do like Bev, but they're gonna have to do better than that. If DJ leaves, then the best thing they'd have acquired for trading Kyrie is a role player in Bev? The Clippers have already traded away their recent picks, and they don't have any young players with a ton of potential. I don't see why Cleveland would be that interested in what they have to offer unless they pull a Kevin Pritchard.

    While that would be funny it's not possible. If I'm not mistaken there is a time period that a player has to wait to resign or trade for said player once he's been traded or released
