Chris Paul's birthday - May 6, 1985 (age 32). He would be 37 years old on Oct 1, 2022... CBA FAQ #56. What is the "Over-38" rule? "For the Over-38 rule, seasons are defined to commence on October 1. So if the player's birthday is October 1 or later, then the season will commence before his birthday, but the Over-38 rule applies only to seasons that commence after the player's 38th birthday -- essentially gaining such players an extra year where the Over-38 rule doesn't apply." I've been on vacation. I'm looking forward to seeing how they play together. In any case, let's not forget that CP3 left the Clippers b/c he felt they weren't committed to winning.
kyrie makes no one better. no multiplier effect. only iso-effect. i would trade robert brown for him tho
It's weird to be saying this with 100% seriousness but I think it depends on LeBron next summer. I could see Bron and Melo (assuming trade happens) both opting out and all 3 taking big time pay cuts to make the $$$ work here. Would have to trade Gordon, CP would have to sign first to lower the cap number, Clint would have to wait to sign his extension, etc.. It's actually very doable but the order of operations would be the key. Otherwise I believe CP will get the full 5 year max.
Wow, he's only been here for like two days and he already wants to stay here forever. He must love the summer heat and our lack of freeway traffic. Houston is so much better than Los Angeles.
Who would willingly want to play with Westi?.Paul George is not applicable here since he has no choice for now!
Well, no one is reporting that Paul George intends to stay in OKC... I officially count this as an off-season W, but it's the equivalent of say beating Philly or Sacramento at home.
Outside of the beautiful women and beaches and weather I actually think it is Los Angeles isn't even the 3rd best city in Cali. Houston is a pretty great city to homebase from. You can travel to the other places they have most of the summer off anyway
Chris Paul is betting on himself this year. If he doesn't play like a superstar or stay healthy then the Rockets have the freedom not to offer him the max. If he does play like a superstar and we have playoff results to show for it then we can extend him handsomely. Either way the Rockets win; it's a good position to be in.
i hope they can extend him during the season so we don't have to worry about FA next summer. we gave up too much for a 1 year rental. even if he doesnt work with harden, give him the extension and trade him for something good. i think they'll fit and win 60 games. hopefully the melo deal happens and both he and melo agree to extend for the same price they're making now ($24M) rather than their max ($35M?). if they're both committed to winning at this point in their career, its not far fetched for that to happen.
Those are massive numbers on the 5 year deal. I'm hoping he's willing to take 27-30 if it means Lebron is in the fold. Wishful thinking perhaps
