The Knicks need to take a flyer on Hinkie if they are set on these awful contracts for tanking purposes.
You don't want that. He'd go straight to Cleveland. Reason it's all about Houston now is because of trade.

Yeah I'm back to reality now. We're not close and we were never actually close. What the fans and the non-reliable sources considered close was our front office wanting Melo, and Melo wanting to come here. But Knicks don't want anything we're willing to offer so in actuality we weren't as close as we thought. I don't see how this will change this summer. I still believe as time goes on Melo will be willing to go to more teams.
They honestly may be trying to tank. I don't understand why Ryan's contract is such a big deal at this point. He's going to be a big expiring piece who can shoot. The player option may hint more than anything that the Knicks are going to tank and take Ryan off our hands.

Melo wants to go to a contender that also has one of his friends there. His options are Houston and Cleveland. If it's not one of those two teams he would just stay in NY
Knicks have no cap space now. If they are going to sign a free agent like Rondo they have to move Melo.
